This puts the skill on a 45-second cooldown (affected by alacrity, as usual). The ‘off-tank’ can do this by activating their special action skill. At about three stacks, the first tank should tell the second to take aggro. Every 12 seconds starting at 7:54, the current tank will receive one stack of Necrosis, a debuff that increases incoming damage by 10% per stack. You can also ‘bait’ this by having the player you want to tank first activate their special action skill on the cliff before beginning. Whoever reaches the platform area first will tank initially, indicated by a purple fixate diamond over their head. You cannot jump or glide to the platform without grabbing both runes if you try, everyone will be killed in midair. The two players who interact with these runes will receive the Exile’s Embrace effect and a special action skill, Issue Challenge. When you reach the edge of the cliff overlooking the Soulless Horror’s platform, you’ll see two glowing runes on the ground. These three thresholds dictate more of the mechanics as well. This will happen again at 66% and 33% health. At 90%, an outer ring of the platform will turn yellow-orange and crumble away three seconds later. The Soulless Horror is situated in the middle of a floating platform. īoss types: Attack heavy, gravity, instant death I highly recommend one or two condi scourges for. Power DPSers will struggle to upkeep their bonus as well. DPS: All your DPS players should use condition builds because there are no phases, meaning conditions will tick from start to finish.I recommend at least one druid because they are suited to perform a role in this fight. Druids and scourges with their mobile downed pulls are useful, while tempests and scrappers have frequent condi cleanse.
Healers: There is a lot of squad-wide damage and conditions on SH, so it might not be overkill to have three healers, especially if your group is having trouble. The other tank can be another chrono or a healbrand. You need two tanks and one of them will almost certainly be a chronomancer, so you can’t use an STM chrono, although you can use a condi chronotank if desired. Boon support: The regular Firebrigade comp works well here, but Condi RR is recommended due to there being no phases and the unavoidable necessity of moving the boss at least a little. You’ll also need crowd control (CC), pushes and/or immobilization, and plenty of condition cleanses. SH is the first boss that requires two tanks. Like other bosses such as Slothasor or Cairn, there are no distinct phases, but there are new or more difficult mechanics as you progress. The Soulless Horror is easy in theory, but with a few tricky mechanics that can get the better of you if you’re not careful. Every player needs this to get to the Soulless Horror’s platform. If you’re brand new to raiding, I recommend reading my Raiding 101 guides first. This is a detailed guide on the mechanics of the fight including various strategies that cater to everyone from beginners to experienced raiders.
Welcome to my guide for the Soulless Horror (more commonly known as SH or Desmina), the first boss in the Hall of Chains.
